Patong Hill Tribe Elephant Village (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Booking details: name, email, phone, hotel/pickup location, number of guests, special requirements (dietary, accessibility).
  • Payment details: processed by our payment partners (FareHarbor / Stripe). We do not store card numbers on our servers.
  • Messages: WhatsApp, email, or chat messages you send us, kept for service continuity.
  • Website data: standard analytics (pages viewed, device type) via cookies — used to improve the site.

2. How we use your information

  • To confirm and operate your booking (pickup, schedule, lunch, special needs).
  • To reply to your questions on WhatsApp, email, or chat.
  • To send booking-related updates (confirmations, reminders, change notices). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
  • To improve our service and website.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations in Thailand.

3. Who we share with

We share the minimum required with our service partners:

  • Booking and payment: FareHarbor (booking system) and Stripe/PayPal (payment processing).
  • Hotel pickup: we share your hotel name and meeting time with our driver.
  • Email and messaging: Google Workspace and WhatsApp.
  • Legal: authorities only where required by Thai law.

We do not sell your data.

4. Cookies

We use basic analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data retention

We keep booking records for the period required by Thai tax law (usually 5 years). Messages and emails are kept for as long as needed to provide good service, then archived or deleted.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to: see what information we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. Just message ask@hilltribeelephantvillage.com.

Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book or visit Patong Hill Tribe Elephant Village. By booking with us, you agree to them.

1. Booking and payment

  • Bookings are confirmed when payment is completed.
  • Prices are per person in Thai Baht (THB), unless otherwise stated.
  • Children’s rates, where applicable, are shown at booking.

2. Cancellation and refund

  • More than 24 hours before: free cancellation, full refund.
  • Within 24 hours: non-refundable, except where we cancel.
  • If we cancel (e.g. severe weather, safety, elephant welfare), you can rebook or get a full refund.

3. The visit experience

  • Visits are keeper-led. The keeper team’s instructions must be followed for guest and elephant safety.
  • Close contact, feeding, photo opportunities, and exact routine are not guaranteed and depend on elephant comfort, weather, and keeper guidance.
  • We do not offer riding, shows, tricks, or forced bathing.

4. Health and safety

  • The site has natural, uneven hillside terrain. Suitable shoes are required.
  • Please tell us in advance about pregnancy, mobility, allergy, or health conditions that may affect the visit.
  • Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • For your safety, please do not approach elephants outside the guided observation area.

5. Photography and conduct

  • Photography from the guided area is welcome. Please avoid flash near the elephants.
  • Drones are not permitted without prior written approval.
  • Disrespectful behavior toward elephants, staff, or other guests may result in the visit being ended without refund.

6. Liability

Visiting wild animals always carries some risk. We take reasonable steps to keep you safe, but you accept normal risks of visiting elephants in a natural environment. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by force majeure (weather, transport delays, government restrictions) or by your failure to follow safety instructions.

We strongly recommend you have personal travel insurance.

7. Force majeure

If we cannot operate due to severe weather, political events, public health restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our control, we will offer a reschedule or refund.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Tourism License No. 33/11527.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. The version applicable to your booking is the one published when you booked.
